History

50 YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE

1976 - 2026

Chartered Kiwanis International in 1976, our club is devoted to building a strong community and providing services for children.  Our members devote their experience, knowledge, and time not only to raise funds to support programs for local children, but also to work in the community for the good of all.

Our club has contributed a number of needed enhancements to the quality of life here along the Colorado River.  The Bullhead City Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River was constructed our members, with the generous assistance of many of our local businesses.  We have erected lighting and planted grass for local parks and ballfields, hosted Easter Egg Hunts and Trunk or Treats, maintained historical landmarks, worked with Habitat for Humanity and along with Kiwanis Morning Club we built the Ken Fovargue Water Park and much, much more. For the past 25 years we have hosted Cornfest - a Carnival event for the whole family. Local youth groups and clubs volunteer to help us put this event on and earn money for their clubs.

We encourage community service among our youth sponsoring Builders Clubs in the Junior High Schools and Key Clubs in the High Schools. We also provide scholarships to local high school students to assist with their dreams of attending college.

As the community has grown, so has the need for Kiwanis.  When the population began to expand and as our own club grew in numbers, we sponsored a second club in Bullhead City, the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club.  Kiwanis has thrived as we work toward the betterment of the entire Colorado River region.
